Puccini's women

Saturday, May23 at 11.00 am, the National Museum of Palazzo Reale will host ‘Le donne di Puccini’ (Puccini’s Women) a dance performance that explores the life of Giacomo Puccini through his humanity and contradictions.

It highlights his timeless and universal compositional genius alongside the provincial reality of Torre del Lago, his favourite retreat where he was able to concentrate and compose. Puccini surrounded by women – those from his real life who inspired the heroines of his operas – from the conflicts with his wife Elvira to his relationship with his friend Giulia, right through to the tragedy of the death of his maid Doria.

The event is part of the second edition of “Music and Ballet in the National Museums of Pisa” festival.
