Ridere in Russia – Смеяться В России

The exhibition shows humorous-satirical drawings by some of the most famous authors of contemporary scene of Russian satire. The diffusion of messages for the general public through easy and fast accessed canals, like the satirical cartoon or incisive images of manifestos, is a well-noted feature of soviet propaganda. Though forced to ridicule, above all, State enemies, satirical art has always been a well established and cultivated art in this particular country. With the decline of USSR, in Russia today this form of art continues to produce works that are true masterpieces, characterized by sharp wit and endless originality.
The Italian public is presented with a wide selection of these works to mark the 2011 celebrations – Year of Russian culture and language in Italy.
