The parish church of St. Anthony in Marina di Pietrasanta celebrates its Patron Saint St. Anthony of Padua, patron of the costal area and the sea, its inhabitants and the boats. The event was founded in 1933, year of the church's dedication to the Saint, located in the center of Tonfano. Most impressive is the floral display in front of the church square and the blessing of the sea and the boats.
Program:
Sunday, June 11
at 7:00 pm – S. Antonio's concert, with the participation of the parish choir Cant'Antonio and the Schola Cantorium of Marina di Pietrasanta.
Tuesday, June 13
h. 8:00 am – Holy Mass and blessing of the bread.
h. 11:30 am – Solemn Mass with the participation of the Schola Cantorum choir of Marina di Pietrasanta. At the end of the Mass, blessing of the lilies and the children.
h. 18:00 – Blessing of the sailors and the boats, in the presence of the civil and military authorities. Commemoration of the victims of the sea.
h. 21.30 – Procession with the statue of the Saint starting from the church. Itinerary: via Duca della Vittoria, via Donizetti, piazza XXIV Maggio, piazzale L. Amadei to the pier's top and return to the church with a parade of lifeguards.
h. 23:00 – Toast. At the end of the procession, in front of the church a toast will be made by the Hotel-keepers, shop-keepers and Beach resorts Associations.
