The Gallery of Modern and Contemporary Art of Viareggio presents an exhibition about the "Sei Canzoni" Art Book by Sandro Chia, representing the launch of the production of the 2RCGAMC International Graphic Art Center of Viareggio.
The engraving of the plates of the six subjects ("Sei Canzoni") was made in the workshop of 2RC Edizioni d'Arte in Rome, and in Montalcino in the artist's studio. The printing of the six engravings was made in Viareggio, in the "Laboratorio 2RC Officina Contemporaneo", at the "Centro internazionale della Grafica d’Arte 2RCGAMC", where, in 2014/2015, with the Master of First Level in "Techniques and Management of Print and Artwork", realized in collaboration with the Academy of Fine Arts in Florence, six young artists have gained particular respect; to three of them a scholarship of one year of internship was awarded in March 2016; In the program,besides their artistic research in the various engraving techniques, a final print of editions of important contemporary artists is foreseen, with maximum teamwork and responsibility. The first artist is Sandro Chia with his book "Sei Canzoni".
During the inauguration, on may 6 at 16:00, Master Sandro Chia will hold an open dialogue.
Sandro Chia was one of the most important members of the Italian Transavanguardia movement (a movement known also as the name of neo-expressionism) and has a very heterogeneous artistic background. Currently he lives and works in Miami and Montalcino; He has exposed his works in several editions of the Biennale in Venice and his works are included in public and private collections.
