“SENTINELLES” by Nicolas Mingasson – photography exhibition at LABottega

The inauguration of the photography exhibition “SENTINELLES” by Nicolas Mingasson, curated by Serena Del Soldato, will be held on Saturday 17 May 2014 at 18:00 at “LABottega” in Marina di Pietrasanta.

“Nicolas Mingasson’s photographer’s eye turns towards people living in extreme situations. First, in 1992, as a war photographer covering the conflicts in Bosnia Erzegovina and subsequently in Afghanistan, and then in recent years as a photo-journalist in Arctic Russia.

Two situations remarkably distant from one another; the backdrop on one side is war and armed conflict, on the other swathes of ice as far as the eye can see. However, the centre is always occupied by people, immersed in exceptional situations by choice or for necessity. Mingasson loves to immerse himself in their daily life and then share these experiences with the rest of the world, through his photographs.” From the preface of the catalogue curated by Ottavia Sartini.
