Seravezza Fotografia 2014 – “House with Fifteen Keys” , 15 keys for understanding the artist Frank Horvat

Seravezza Fotografia, this year celebrating its eleventh edition, will be held at Palazzo Mediceo (UNESCO Hertiage site) in Seravezza from 22 February to 21 April. 

It’s main event is “House with Fifteen Keys“, an exhibition of two hundred and ninety photographs, subdivided in 15 sections, by artist Frank Horvat.

With this exhibition, Frank Horvat, born in 1928 in Abbazia, Italy (now living in Opatija, Croatia), lays out his 70 years of activity in reportage, fashion, portrait, landscape and street photography, and also includes some shots of personal projects from the 80s to today.

The event features a rich and varied programme of exhibitions and initiatives. The centrepiece exhibition by Horvat, is accompanied by those of three young up-and-coming artists: Marian Vanzetto, Vincenza de Nigris and Alejandra Mendez (winner of the best photographic portfolio award Seravezza Fotografia 2013).

In addition, the photography club “Altissimo”, active throughout the region for some time, will also exhibit a group work in theme.

“Ritratti di donna” (Woman portraits), by Silvia Amodio and Ugo Panella, will be exhibited in the Bottegalab spaces.

There will also be courses, seminars and workshops and, by application, it will be possible to attend the judging of the photographic portfolios, that will be carried out by experts in the field nominated by the Fiaf. As for previous editions, the author that is judged as having exhibited the best photographic portfolio will have the right to show his/her work in the 2015 edition of Seravezza Fotografia.

“House with Fifteen Keys” and the other exhibitions at the Scuderie Granducali of Palazzo Mediceo, are open from Thursday to Saturday from 15.00 to 19.00 and Sunday and public holidays from 10.00 to 19.00.
