A particular living nativity scene in the Renaissance spaces of the Este fortress Montalfonso, surrounded by spectacular views of the Apuan Alps and Apennine, sees as protagonists the locals. A unique opportunity to experience the typical atmosphere of festivities and participate in charitable collection in favor of Amatrice, earthquake victims.
The event program is a picturesque route that winds within the Mont'Alonso Fortress along which you can admire the evocative re-enactments of some ancient crafts and taste the dishes typical of the period and the Garfagnana.
At the end of the journey you can make donations at the hut of the Nativity.
Every village of the municipality of Castelnuovo will participate with its own stand and will propose a typical dish:
– Croce di Stazzana: necci and weeders.
– Gragnanella: fried dough and pancakes with sausage.
– Palleroso: tripe.
– Torrite: bread and biroldo and grilled.
– Cerretoli: quiches, sandwiches and donuts ..
– Antisciana: polenta formenton and meat sauce or cheese.
In any stand, water, wine and mulled wine.
it will be possible to buy torches (€ 5.00) and lanterns (€ 3.00) at the stands in the Fortress.
From 11.30 free shuttle service running every 20 minutes from Via Garibaldi.
The proceeds from the gastronomic journey, from the sale of torches and lanterns will be donated to the "amateur project"
