TEATRO DEL GIGLIO Lucca – MacBeth

The Teatro del Giglio , always artistic and cultural landmark of the city of Lucca, in 1985 he received the recognition of Theatre Tradition. Its origin dates back more than three centuries ago, when the Council of the Republic of Lucca established by decree a public theater that had an intense attitività art over the centuries .

The activity of the Teatro del Giglio is divided into seasons . Among these stands out for its importance and commitment the Opera season that , by custom , inaugurated the theater season, the long winter months until spring wind the Prose Season , Season of Dance and Music concert season called Lucca in Musica (in collaboration with the Lucchese Music Association ).
In spring and autumn are held on Sunday morning concert aperitif.

Vacanze romane
(Roman holidays) with Serena Autieri and Attilio Fontana. Adapted from the award-winning film directed by William Wyler and starring two cinema legends such as Audrey Hepburn and Gregory Peck, this wonderful fresco of Rome, generous and dreamy, emerges from the war, is the latest theatrical testimony of the monumental artistic partnership between Peter Garinei and Armando Trovajoli.

The Pride

The story of a dysfunctional family, off-axis, a family that is forced to emancipate itself from itself, of a father who moves extremely high demands towards their children, by virtue of an artistic past not memorable, and children misrepresentation that the family for their own fragility and weakness. Piéce on a tragicomic awkwardness that binds forcibly family when they make decisions about a parent who has lost their autonomy.

The show wonders about our age, in constant balance between anxiety of the present and hope for the future. Inspired by the 1963 film Anger, in which Pasolini constructs a world vision staff where great utopias of his time living with the economic boom. To act as a boundary to all the songs of Fabrizio De André: poems to music ranging from rebellion and from ballads to the provocation policy and sore visionary of "saved souls".

Pierpaolo Pasolini, with mauro Malinverno, Valentina Banci, Francesca Borchi, Cecilia Langone, Francesca Ravera, Fulvio Cauteruccio; directed by Valerio Binasco. Pasolini develops the plot of Pigpen in Germany post-war, post-Nazi society in which the bourgeoisie has taken full possession of power.

Giocando con Orlando
freely adapted from "Orlando Furioso" by Ludovico Ariosto, with Stefano Accorsi and Marco Baliani; directed by Marco Baliani; New Theatre production.
A fearless Accorsi, takes us on a playful journey that has as fil-rouge the theme of love and its infinite variations: lost love, that unfortunate, winning, painful, joyful and obviously furious. Marco Baliani instead, theatrical expert like few others in Italy in terms of the narrative, the director will be on stage, shoulder and supporting actor ready to set traps and invent verses.
