“Sandokan”.
A show written by Giovanni Guerrieri, with Gabriele Carli, Giulia Gallo, Giovanni Guerrieri, Enzo Illiano and Giulia Solano.
The performance, winner of the Premio Ubu 2008, is loosely based on the book “The Tigers of Mompracem” by Emilio Salgari and takes place in a kitchen where four people relive the intricate exploits of the Malaysian pirate. “Sandokan” transfers the action from the exotic asian environments to a simple kitchen that suddenly becomes the realm of the pearl of Labuan, a pirate ship, villa of Lord Guillonk, Malay forest, Mompracem beach. The pivot of the action is the vegetable, in all its declinations: carrot-soldiers, celery-forests, red tomato blood, potato-bombs, ornamental parsley. On stage, actors who chop, shred, slice and mix, in a culinary crescendo that culminates in the frenzy of battle, fought with wooden spoons as swords, and graters as cannons. Recommend for age 6 and above.

By car: take the Lucca Est exit and follow indications for Guamo and Vorno. On the Vorno road, turn left at the sign “Tenuta Dello Scompiglio”.
By train/bus: from Lucca train station, walk to Piazzale Verdi (10-15 minutes).
Take the bus in the direction of Vorno-Capannori.
