The choice of Divisione ‘Acqui’ in Cefalonia and Corfù in September 1943

Form February 19th till March 6th the Photo exhibition “La scelta della Divisione Acqui a Cefalonia e Corfù nel settembre 1943) (The choice of the Division Acqui in Cefalonia and Corfù in September 1943) organized by the Province of Lucca and Associazione Nazionale Divisione Acqui.

After the armistice of  September 8th 1943 the Italian soldiers of the Division Acqui chose to fight against the former allied Germans. They paid a very high price for their choice: only 6000 of 17000 came back home between 1944 and 1946.
