"L'occhio di Lucca" (The eye of Lucca) is an event of historical reconstruction which consists of the re-enactment of this communication system.
When, in the early sixteenth century, the geopolitical changes of the republic of Lucca Tuscany led to radically revise their defensive system , in parallel with the architectural works that culminated with the construction of an impressive Renaissance city walls, it became necessary also a substantial revision of the organization of the militias.
For the ordering of the militia of the several orders of 4 in particular of the Militia of the mountain became indispensable even a radical revision of the ameliorative sitema comuniaczione optics, based on a network of towers visible to one another and strategically located on the territory of the state of Lucca.
