The MuSA presents seven great artists of marble

"7 artisti per 7 storie" - il MuSA racconta i maestri del marmo / The MuSA presents seven great artists of marble

The MuSA – Virtual Museum of Sculpture and Architecture – hosts seven video-interviews over the Easter period (from 24 to 27 April and 1 to 4 May). Seven stories rooted in different contexts in terms of social provenience, aesthetic approach and work techniques, but sharing a single common element – art and material, as a dialogue from the past that is also projected into the future.

The artists Andrew Wielawski, Eugenio Riotto, Gustavo Vélez, Henry Schiowitz, Ivan Theimer, John Bizas and Yemisi Wilson tell their own stories, from their first steps in the art scene to contact with Pietrasanta and the large artisans’ workshops.

The big screens of the MuSA reproduce, in a particularly engaging atmosphere, the professional, but above all affective bond that has formed between these artists and the town of marble.

An installation conceived as bridging the Real and Virtual, along with the museum’s mission, to testify to the dedication and the importance of handing down the tradition of figurative art of marble and the many internationally famous artists who have chosen to live and work in one of the most vibrant centres of art in the world.

Hours:

24.25.26.27 April / 1.2.3.4 May 2014

16:30 – 20:30.
