From 10 June, for the third consecutive year, the historical town centre of Lucca becomes the stage for the series of events known as “Theatres of the Sacred”.
Celebrated actors such as Maddalena Crippa, Giorgio Colangeli and Alessandro Berti – to name just a few – will rub shoulders with talented amateur theatre companies in staging a series of performances that will bring the town’s theatres, streets and squares alive.
The common theme of this event is the multiplicity of visions of the sacred. This means not only the re-examination of biblical texts, but also and above all the inner quest and various types of journey that this brings, unavoidably touching the dilemmas of today, ranging from the problems coupled with the economic and environmental crisis to those connected with the mafia.
There will also be experiential and themed workshops which provide audiences with opportunities for inquiry and experimentation.
The events take place between 10 – 16 June and are all free.
