The event, organized by ASD Lucchese, already has some 200 pre-registrations with chess players from all over Italy and abroad.
Chess players will compete in four tournaments planned: the Open A category reserved for players to master; Open B for national categories; Open the C turned to chess beginners; and finally the under-16 tournament dedicated to the very young.
Many names on the international scene who have participated in the past: in 2012 the Italian Alberto David Champion, Grandmaster English Gawain Jones along with New Zealander wife Sue Maroroa, the Great Russian-Spanish Master Oleg Korneev, the Great Master and Bulgarian national Aleksander Delchev, Grandmaster Belarusian Nikita Maiorov, Grandmaster Croatian Bogdan Lalic, the Great Bulgarian Masters Evgeni Janev and Vladimir Petkov, the Great Filipino Master Joseph Sanchez, the number one club Lucchese, Peter Mola, the Indians Jha Sriram and Subbaraman Vijayalakshmi and many others coming from Austria, Switzerland, Germany, France, Holland and so on. and this year also will be present famous Grand Masters of the international scene.
Many young chess players present, divided between under-16 and higher series and more numerous female representatives. Many other players Lucca in the race, mostly found in the tournament B.
In the last edition of the players were 194, distributed in the rooms of the main floor of Palazzo Guinigi, in 2014 in the Ducal Palace were 165, and 195 in 2013. To underline the result of the XXVII edition that brought the event to be Italian record the number of participants from all over Italy and abroad.
