Event created in 2008 by Andrea Poli and Maurizio Giannasi comes alive in July during the historic "Piazzette" of Barga. Under the voults of the ancient palace Menchi Pancrazi, book presentations and meetings with authors sponsored and supported by the City of Barga.
The eighth edition of Tra le righe di Barga – City of the book – again, through great guests, will try to find answers to the many curiosities that enliven our country.
Thursday, July 14
It starts with the writer Carlo Martigli, author of the noir novel La scelta di Sigmund (The choice of Sigmund – Mondadori), the story of a crime perpetrated in the Vatican in the early '900. During the evening – curated the inn Aristo – will play their engaging music for Aristodemus.
Friday, July 15, under the Volta of Menchi, the expected meeting with Fabio Genovesi, who on this occasion will receive the "reward of reading", and his book Chi manda le onde (Who sends waves – Mondadori), set in the Versilia that Genovesi was born in Forte dei Marmi, knows well.

The Sicilian author Ignazio Bascone brings to the festival his Tommaso l’omu cani. (Tommaso l'uomo cane -Libridine) Bitter and miserable hypothesis about the disappearance of Ettore Majorana in 1938 in Mazara del Vallo, near Trapani.
Monday, July 18
An evening dedicated to knowledge, including books, honey, local products, in collaboration with Slow Food Garfagnana and Serchio Valley. It will be presented Guida alla Saggezza (Guide to Wisdom). Atlas of places of Lucca, an essay, with a preface by Vincenzo Pardini, which tells a territory passing through the stories of Giacomo Puccini, Giovanni Pascoli, Ludovico Ariosto, Ilaria del Carretto, but also women of the Resistance and of free fishing in Viareggio. Among the authors, Sara Moscardini, Simonetta Simonetti, Normanna Albertini, Bruno Giannoni and Monica Dini. It will then be the turn of Ivo Poli who will present his latest work on "good herbs." Francesca Buonagurelli farm Il benefizio will present the honeys of the Serchio Valley, a journey through the flavors of the earth. The event will also be presented the anthology edited by Marco Vichi entitled Scritto nella memoria (Written in memory – Guanda).
