TRA SOGNO E REALTA'

The surrealist sculpture and graphic of Salvador Dali will be the stars for three months in the center of Pietrasanta. The exhibition entitled Between Dream and Reality, and already hosted in prestigious international capitals including Paris, London, Singapore, Shanghai, Beijing, now arrives in the heart of "Little Athens", where it will be open on November 12 at 5:00 pm on the occasion of the Saint Patron's feast.

Until February 5 visitors can admire in Piazza Duomo some monumental bronze sculptures, including the giant Space Elephant and the gigantic Rhinoceros Cosmique. The cloister and the church of St. Augustine will host instead sculptures smaller in size and graphic works.

Salvador Dali, the famous Catalan artist, is characterized by the obsessive representation of figures, symbols and phobias in dream-like and surreal key. Throughout his life he applied his artistic production in all areas of the fine arts: sculpture, painting, graphics, etchings, lithographs, and even minor arts such as the production of works in crystal.

Passionate about literature, especially of classical texts, Dali applies his surrealist interpretation of the world in the illustrations of books such as Bizet's Carmen, but also in more modern books. Mythology, religion and history stimulated Dalí in creating a wide variety of images, characters and allegories, through which he recounted his world.

Purpose of this exhibition is that of exposing the genius of Dalí in a way that provides visitors with an educational experience about the methods, the work method and the symbolism of Dalí.
