122 totem-style images, revisiting Versilia in black and white, will be on display along Viareggio’s promenade, in front of participating shops and hotels.
These are photographs of great artistic, historical and cultural value, capturing local real-life situations from between the 30s and 50s.
The images, property of the ex ATP (Touristic Promotion Agency), immortalize Viareggio’s classic situations: beach life, carnival, pine groves and panoramas, that thanks to this project, will accompany us during the initial months of Viareggio’s summer.

The exhibition was organised in collaboration with Viareggio Town Council, Banca del Monte di Lucca Foundation, Il Tirreno, and the local associations – Associazione Albergatori Viareggio, Comitato Passeggiata 2000, Ascom Viareggio, Confcommercio Lucca, Confesercenti Lucca – with advice from Photo Lux. La Versilia ritrovata also boasts the support of the Town Councils of Camaiore, Forte dei Marmi and Pietrasanta.
