The open-air theater in the Park of Villa La Versiliana is home this year to the 37th edition of the eponymous Festival, a season that includes two months of performances of great appeal in a balance between drama, dance, music and cabaret, in the skilful combination of tradition and innovation.
In addition to the villa's open-air theater program, there are afternoon meetings at the Caffé (the famous live talk show launched by Romano Battaglia) with personalities from the world of culture, politics, entertainment, science, who repropose the tradition of the typical cultural clubs of Versilia.
The children's space offers a playground-library, entertainment and performances dedicated to the Italian fairy tale, exhibitions organized in the exhibition halls of the Villa, in the former Factory of pine nuts and in the park.
On the jetty of Marina di Pietrasanta in addition to the classic readings dedicated to the events of Virgilios Aeneid, The Versiliana Festival proposes a brand new cycle of shows in tribute to William Shakespeare, the greatest playwright of all time and the highest representative of the Elizabethan Theatre, on the 400th anniversary of his death. Nine appointments in total, named "The Shakespearean Sunsets" conceived by Fausto Costantini and Massimiliano Simoni, and performed by great interpreters of the Italian theater.
