Virio Bresciani - I volti della solitudine

From  April 2nd to  June 13th, at the Cloister of Sant’Agostino, the Culture Office of Pietrasanta presents “I volti della solitudine” (The faces of solitude), a retrospective exhibition that traces the human and artistic history of the Versilian painter Virio Bresciani from the 1940s up to his death ten years ago, in 2000.
At the core of Bresciani’s poetics is the theme of solitude. This artist portrays man as a victim of convention, consumerism and hedonistic illusion, whose difficult existence is reflected in a desolate landscape, illuminated by a cold and penetrating light.
