The commemorations for the 69th anniversary of the massacre of Sant’Anna di Stazzema will be held under the direction of the High Patronage of the President of the Republic.
The official oration will be attended by Ms Maria Chiara Carrozza, Minister for Education, University and Research, 12 August .
Minister Carrozza will also be present at the preview of the project “Peace Paths – Itineraries through the Peace National Park of Sant’Anna di Stazzema and creation of interactive multimedia exhibits at the Historical Museum”, which has seen the restoration of the paths around Sant’Anna and the inclusion of new multimedia exhibits in the Museum founded by Versilia Town Council Union under the Presidency of Maurizio Verona.
Programme 12 August:
Holy Mass 8:30, Holy Mass followed by official gathering in Church Square. 9:15 – laying of commemorative wreaths in honour of the fallen and in commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the helicopter accident which took the life of Roberto Crema, the President of Italian Misericordia, and his crew.
9:35 – Holy Mass celebrated by the Archbishop of Pisa S.E. Giovanni Paolo Benotto, followed by the start of the 5th Sant’Anna – Marzabotto Peace March. 11:00 – the Ossuary Monument ceremony will be opened by the Mayor of Stazzema and the President of the Committee for the Honours to Sant’Anna Martyrs, Michele Silicani, followed by salute of the Sant’Anna Martyrs Association.
The official oration will be held by Ms Maria Chiara Carrozza, Minister for Education, University and Research. 2:30 – presentation of the multimedia exhibit project at the Museum.
