Together with concepts relating to the history of architecture and the decorative arts in 20th century Versilia, the initiative provides students with the methodological tools to allow them to read and to set into a wider context Versilia's numerous and significant works of art.
Schedule
Session I: Visit to Viareggio's avenues by the sea and, optionally, to the towns of Camaiore and Pietrasanta.
Session II: Ceramic workshop: Aided by staff, students can create an Art Nouveau ceramic object that, after being kiln-fired, will be given to each participant.
Session III: Class lesson: basic concepts of Eclecticism, Art Nouveau and Art Deco. Revision of the acquired knowledge in the light of previous sessions.
