The monument is composed of two parts: a bas-relief in honour of the Fallen of the first world war and a lower tombstone dedicated to the heroes of the second war. At first, the bas-relief as on the church tower of Magnano and then, in the first seventies years, it has been moved in the square. The marble bas-relief, which represents a soldier naked and dying, is inserted in a wall made of pietra serena, ashlar. The soldier has a helmet and he has a sword, he leans with his left arm against a plinth on which you can read the inscription PRO PATRIA. At the right of the soldier you can see an inscription with the names of the Fallen for the country. On the lower marble tombstone, which does not have any ornamental elements, there are engraved the names of the Fallen of the second world war.

The bas-relief is signed and dated: U. Pinzauti, 15th November MCMXXV, while the author of the tombstone is unknown.
Unfortunately, there is no precise evidence on the commissioning of the bas-relief. Probably born from the will of a village committee, which arose spontaneously to honor fallen citizens. The tombstone in honor of the fallen of the second war was instead realized mainly thanks to the interest, in the early 90's, of the teacher and councilor, Elisabetta Fontana, of Magnano.
The bas-relief was made in 1925; the tombstone, which dates back to 1993, was solemnly inaugurated on August 22nd of the same year.
