The Gothic Line – Didattica

The initiative aims to help forge the civic identity of students through an understanding of the historical events relating to the Gothic Line, the Nazi-fascist line of defence breached by the Spring Offensive in 1945.

Schedule
Session I: A workshop is held during lessons in order to set the Gothic Line into the context of the Second World War and Resistance. Analysis of maps, documents and historical evidence.
Session II: Guided tours of the Museo Storico della Liberazione of Lucca and of the Museo Storico della Resistenza of S. Anna di Stazzema.
Session III: Historical and methodological knowledge and skills are consolidated through an on-site analysis of specific aspects relating to the Gothic Line and production of materials.

The initiative is free of charge and is co-financed by the Provincia di Lucca, the Regione Toscana, and by the municipalities of the province of Lucca.
