The initiative is aimed at spreading knowledge about the Ligurian-Apuan culture, which originated and developed in the province of Lucca. In particular, the aspects relating to the Ligurian settlements in mountainous areas (the Apuan Alps and Apennines) and to their natural environment are thoroughly analysed.
The educational initiative is arranged in the form of a guided and simulated research project: indeed, students go through the various stages of research: they examine documents, formulate and prove hypotheses, and organize the acquired data.
Schedule
Session I: Observation and simulated research on the archaeological findings preserved in the museum.
Session II: Lifestyle and aspects relating to habits, economics, social structure and territorial organization are reconstructed by observing the environment and making use of archaeological data and historical sources.
Session III: The historical and methodological knowledge acquired is consolidated and extended through a comparison between the culture of Ligurians and that of other people (the Etruscans and the Romans).
