The monument is located in the piazza in front of the local church. It has a base made up of steps on which rests an obelisk with epigraphs on the front.

- Deliberation of Lucca Town Council 15th July 1925.
The work, commissioned by the local pro-monument committee L'opera, was inaugurated 26th August 1925. The creation was entrusted to the sculptor Siimoni, author of numerous other works of this kind in the Lucca area. In the same year reinforcement work to the pedestal was authorised.
