BANDITS IN SILLICO AT THE TIME OF ARIOSTO

Place in the foothills of the Apennines overlooking the flood plain and the town of Pieve Fosciana, Sillico is a perfect observation of the entire valley, strategically placed in direct visual relationship with the fortified village of Castiglione and the fortress of Montalfonso in Castelnuovo Garfagnana.

Ludovico Ariosto, Poet and Governor of the Garfagnana in the sixteenth century, had relations "liveliest" with garfagnini, which, however, always appreciated him as a great poet.. We have dinner with the most tipical ancient recipes in his honor around among small piazzas, views, streets, loggias of  the village who saw him often at odds with the brigands of the Apennines.
